Year of manufacture: 4/2005
Weight: 95kg
General / Technical Data:
Very well-maintained broaching machine for external notching of samples for tensile testing
Broaching speeds: variable from 0.43 to 2.27 m/min
Dimensions (H x W x D): 1370mm x 600mm x 450mm
Power supply: 400V / 50 Hz
Equipment:
- Variable speed control via adjustable mechanical gearbox (manufacturer: Lenze); no electronic control!
- Clamping fixture for tensile specimens
- 3 used broaching tools
- Machine documentation in German and English
- Machine documentation including “CE” declaration of conformity in English
General Information
The dual spindle drive ensures smooth operation and a centrally aligned pull point, as well as a consistently uniform broaching speed.
The broaching machine is a specially designed unit for machining V- and U-notches according to Charpy and Izod standards in pre-machined, square 10-mm standard test specimens.
The CNB-34 produces a consistent notch of higher quality than what is achievable by milling.
The machine is easy to operate and features a robust construction with removable maintenance panels for convenient routine servicing. Its design provides a comfortable working height.
During the cutting process, a specially designed broaching tool is drawn over the specimen. The broaching tool is pulled downward into the machine via a gearbox and a dual spindle drive.
The specimen is secured in the machine using the special clamping fixture. The broaching tool is lubricated with cutting oil. By pressing the broaching cycle button, the notch tool is forcibly guided down through the specimen, producing an accurate notch profile. After cutting the notch, the specimen must be removed before returning the tool. The tool is then returned without a workpiece and cleaned of any chips. Only after this cleaning step is the machine ready for further operation.
