Description
The Ring Tester is engineered for automated crack detection on ring-shaped components, such as bearing races and gears, utilizing the eddyvisor C. In addition to crack testing, customers can inspect for grinding burn on the inner and outer rings of roller bearings. For this purpose, a robot manipulates and guides the sensor precisely along the contours of the test part.
Testing is conducted using up to two probes. All relevant scanning parameters and communication protocols for controlling the eddyvisor C are integrated into the robot scanning program.
At the heart of the system is the eddyvisor C, a two-channel eddy current instrument, ensuring highly reliable detection of cracks and grinding burns. Process automation is achieved by an integrated Stäubli TX2-60 robot. The entire system is managed and operated via a control cabinet equipped with an integrated control and operating panel.

A vertical spindle with chuck reliably clamps each test component during the inspection process. Non-conforming (NOK) parts identified during testing are automatically discharged to one of two designated NOK storage conveyors. Separate storage locations for reference and master parts facilitate calibration and ongoing quality assurance during operation. The system also incorporates the ibg Optical Reflection Sensor (iORS), enabling precise, non-contact inspection of rings.
