The workpiece is placed into the machine. A quickly adjustable stop with pneumatic locking mechanism centers the workpiece within the machine. Upon foot pedal activation, the workpiece is pneumatically clamped and automatically conveyed to the drilling unit (30 m/min). Vertical spindles drill from below, ensuring that chips do not remain on the workpiece as they would on conventional machining centers. The horizontal spindles work on two sides of the workpiece. The workpiece length can be unlimited, as it is moved toward the drilling unit (X-axis). The drilling spindles, either individually or in a group, are freely programmable and move along the Y-axis. Drill depth and horizontal drilling operations are managed by the Z-axis.
